In the past, when I heard a story of someone losing their spouse my first question was, "Did they have children?" If the answer was "yes," my heart broke into a thousand pieces. I always thought that losing a spouse would be easier if kids weren't in the picture. The thought of a parent having to raise children alone while dealing with the loss of their best friend seemed to be more than anyone could bear. Well, I can honestly say that I have never been more wrong in my life. I am more thankful for my children today than I have ever been. They are my reason for getting up in the morning, my reason for singing silly songs, my reason for smiling. The Bible tells us that "children are a gift from the Lord." I am SO thankful for the two little "gifts" that the Lord has given to me. They have blessed me during this time in more ways than I could have imagined.
Auston is officially walking now, and Braxton is, well... he's just Braxton - silly as ever! Here are some videos that I thought would bring a smile to your face. I know that they gave me a reason to smile!

Great, eye-opening post Tricia. Thanks so much for sharing your perspective. You guys are in our prayers!
Kevin
PS. Levi has the same shirt Braxton has on in his dancing video! He must have great taste in clothing! :-)
I don't know how you weren't laughing so hard during Braxton's dance video. It was great! I especially love the brief glimpse of the Pee-Wee Herman move. They are both precious. What wonderful gifts they are! Love ya!
This is great! I don't know if Braxton is doing more of work out moves or dance moves.....and little peanut....too cute. Yes, thank God for these amazing little ones that bring joy and laughter into all of our lives...you are so blessed to have them. love you tons and praying always for you.
Love you girl!
I am grateful you have those two little ones. I know my nephew was about the only thing that made me smile through the roughest months after mom died. Children are huge blessings indeed.
Such cute videos! Thanks for sharing!!!
So, did Jimmy teach Braxton how to dance? I could hear Jimmy's laughter in my head as I watched him. What a blessing they are to you...and what a blessing you are to us. Tianne
Tricia, That didn't just bring a smile to my face but a laugh. What a dance!! I can really see Jimmy in those boys. I have always enjoyed checking on your blog and keeping up with the boys. I have great memories of Jimmy and Kevin when they were little and enjoy watching Austin and Braxton. I hope you all have a good week with lots of smiles. You are in my prayers. Karen Eddlemon
That absolutely brought a smile to my face!! I have totally been praying for you this weekend as I know Auston's birthday is either today or tomorrow. The message this morning at church brought tears to my eyes as it was one of the last ones that Jimmy talked about in the Marriage class. He was passionate about the story of Tamar as am I. I felt like he was the only one that seemed to share my excitement over this story. His words "There is some really jacked up stuff in Genesis!" He totally understood how God could use "some jacked up stuff":-). Monica Monasmith
Monica,
I wanted to fall apart in church last night as I heard the story of Tamar. I couldn't believe that it was the same story that Jimmy used. I guess the Lord knew that it was something that needed to be heard by so many. Thanks so much for your prayers, sweet friend. Keep them coming!
How adorable they both are!!!
Those dance moves are hilarious. Who did he learn them from? They are just too cute.
Thanks for sharing! I love the early stages of walking - it is just precious. So intent upon every step.
I think Braxton might have a career ahead of him!
Have a wonderful day, Tiffany
Oh, my sweet babies. That was so precious. Thanks guys for making me smile today. Your right, Tricia, God has surely blessed us with these beautiful little guys.

They say walking is a "controlled fall," but I think Braxton's dancing falls under that definition, as well! LOL
Thank you for sharing and we are still praying for you and the boys. My sweet Tatum is faithful to mention you all at bedtime prayers, without any prompting from us. I hope you feel them.
We love you and hope the house is catching the eye of the perfect buyer!

K Tricia,
Now it is time for a video with you dancing. Go for it sista!
Okay, our whole church didn't send a note for you to dance - it was me...ray, don't know why it just did that???
Tricia....
Thank you for this post. It's hard to put into words but for the last week or so I have had this really sad emptiness when I think about you and what you're going through. How can you do this? Why do you HAVE to do this? etc. This post REALLY helped me today so my thanks goes to you. Praying for you and those precious angels EVERY SINGLE DAY! Love you - Jill
Tricia you just changed my whole perspective about that. What gifts our children are! I am so glad you have 2 of them!:)
Those videos are precious! Auston is so big, and Braxton is a great dancer! These will definitely start my day with a smile - thanks for sharing! Love you! Melissa
I think it's dance off time!? So glad to see you back!
