Babies Kill Brain Cells!

I am CONVINCED that having babies kills brain cells. Even though this has not been scientifically proven, I am certainly living proof! After having Auston, my brain has had temporary moments of insanity on more than one occasion. My last lapse in total brain function occured on Friday, and it earned me one of these:



Yes, that is a ticket from the beloved officer J. Flores of the Lewisville Police Department. It was a beautiful Friday morning, and I was sitting at a red light after dropping Braxton off at school when my brain apparently went into "crazy mode." The light in front of me was as red as red could be, and I was sitting there waiting patiently. Then the light for the turning lane on the side of me turned green. I saw the cars on the side of me moving, so I decided to follow their lead. Next thing I know, I am driving right through the intersection looking up at the red light and staring at the cars turning and headed right at me. Well, be it my luck to have none other than a cop sitting at the opposite side of the intersection. It took him all of about two seconds to throw on his lights and proceed to pull me over. He kindly asked me if there was a reason that I drove through the red light. I had nothing to give him other than my lost brain cells theory. I explained to him that I completely lost my head and accidently drove through the light. I also assured him that I would NEVER drive through a red light on purpose. Well, at least that's MY story. The story inside his little computer in his car says otherwise. I am sure that he saw the FOUR other infractions I had, just in the city of Lewisville alone. Three of which were for running YELLOW lights - they were NOT red, even though those tickets say so!!! So, needless to say, he had no mercy on me. Mommy brain wasn't enough of an excuse to get me out of that one. Defensive driving, here I come (AGAIN!!!)!
