My Sister

Many of you that know me know my sister Victoria. We have certainly been through a lot together. When we were kids we were arch enemies. She was constantly that little girl that was always copying me or getting into my stuff. She was a tiny little kid, but certainly one of the toughest kids I knew. We fought almost daily and constantly bombarded Mom with phone calls at work about the chaos at home. She was feisty, free spirited and fearless. I was a rules follower, people pleaser, and scared of everything. We were like oil and water. When I left for college she told me that she couldn’t wait for me to leave. I couldn’t wait to go. So I headed off to college and that changed everything. As the miles grew between us, our bond grew stronger and we began to let go of all of the childish battles that were fought between us. We began to realize how much we loved each other. Now she is no longer my pesky little sister, she is one of my very best friends. As an adult, I came to realize that no matter what life threw our way (and trust me it threw a lot!), we always had each other. She and I have been through so much together, and I think that is what has made our bond today so strong. We have each other’s backs – no matter what. After Jimmy passed away, I began to appreciate and love my sister more than I ever thought I could. She became such a source of strength for me. I always thought I’d be the big sister – always the one to be the encourager and advice giver. During this trying time, my little sister became my rock. She prayed for me, called me, loved me and came to be by my side. She slept right next to me for the week after Jimmy died. Once again, she was right there by my side, every step of the way. I don’t know what I would do without her. She is one of the most amazing and precious people I know! Today is Victoria’s birthday, and I want her to know how VERY much she is loved. She is the best sister and aunt in the world! Happy birthday, Victoria! I love you more than you will EVER know!!!

Tricia, my Big Sister and Best Friend....I love you so much and love every moment in life that I have with you. We may have been through some hard times but I thank God that he gave me you to go through it with. You were such a mama to me. Making sure I always was taken care of....even in college with your sweet cards and money! You have know idea how much your influence has shaped me. My faith has grown leaps and bounds this year just by watching you. To handle such a trying time with grace. I pray, " God Bless her, she is doing this right." I thank you for being an amazing sister to me. Sisters by blood and friends by choice:) I love you. Vic

Tricia and Victoria. I am SOOOOOO proud of both of you. You both were, and always be, the brightest spots in my entire life. I love you both more than either of you will ever know.

It is truly amazing. The "tapestry" God is weaving in your lives. The strength of the fibers, the colors, and the design; they all speak of how He is willing and able to walk with us and show us His good and perfect will for us.

So precious! Proceed with caution when reading such an amazing post after having a kiddo a week ago. I now need to find a box of Kleenex. I think yall are both amazing women of God and I love that we are friends and family!!! Love, Nea

Trica,
What a special post!!! You should not make your old cousin cry like that. The days I held both you and Vick in my arms, the days we played together, and the trails the two have been though. I guess, in our maturity, we learn what that saying, "blood is thicker than water, prehaps may mean. You are an incredible person to me. You have taught me much in last months about love, compassion, and pastoring to the wounded.

Love ya and Blessings,
Woody
